Low Back Pain 

If you have pain in your lower back (including sciatica) you can now self-refer directly to a new digital support service which offers same-day appointments 24/7. The service is delivered by NHS Lothian’s clinical partner, Flok Health.

For other conditions, or if you prefer to see or speak to a physiotherapist,  then  please contact  your GP practice and ask to see the advanced physiotherapist (GP APP).

We have an Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner who can assess and diagnose any musculoskeletal conditions, provide you with an explanation of your condition, set you appropriate exercises and discuss management options. This may include referral to your local Physiotherapy department for ongoing physiotherapy, pain management advice, Xray or referral for a specialist opinion. 

They can help with:

  • Back pain/sciatica
  • Neck Pain/Whiplash
  • Joint Pain & stiffness e.g. pain in your knee, shoulder, wrist or hand and osteoarthritis
  • Sprains & strains e.g. pain in your knee, ankle or calf
  • Weakness or de-conditioning after injury or surgery
  • Loss of confidence with movement and physical activity.
